HMS Belfast moored alongside is Europe's only surviving big gun armoured warship from the Second World War. On the left are the shops and restaurants of Hay's Galleria.
Look out for modern art galleries as well as excellent restaurants and bars. Follow the path along Shad Thames to Tower Bridge. You can go inside the bridge to the Tower Bridge Experience which tells the story behind this famous landmark.
The Design Museum, the world's first museum devoted to the twentieth century, is part of Butler's Wharf, itself a fascinating mixture of restored docks and modern design.
Walk for 10 minute walk along St. Thomas Street and then into Bermondsey Street to find the Fashion and Textile Museum; its mission is to exhibit the immense changes in contemporary fashion and textiles and educate a wide audience in all areas of fashion and textile design. |
