150 Years of the London Underground - What's Your Favourite Tube Station?

It's hard to believe that the world's first underground train line, the Metropolitan Railway, opened in 1863, operating from Paddington to Farringdon Street. In terms of innovation, this was an enormous leap forward for London, revolutionising travel and becoming a world example for city infrastructure.

Steaming Ahead with London Underground!

I just happened by chance to be in London on Sunday evening 13th January and joined the crowd at Baker Street to watch London Underground's 150th Anniversary Steam Train zip sedately by. It was apparently newly restored Met Locomotive No 1 pulling the beautifully restored Metropolitan Railway "Jubilee" carriage No 353 (built in 1892) and the Chesham set of coaches on loan from the Bluebell Railway.

This V2 Rocket publicises one of London's best kept secrets and is largely overlooked by the travelling populace rushing to work.
